Routine Benefits

Outsmarting acne needs to be an everyday thing

Did you realize that EVERY DAY . . .

  • Skin cells shed and can stick together causing a microcomedo, a primary cause of acne
People with acne generally produce more sebum (oil) than those with clear or dry skin
  • Sometimes it feels like acne never sleeps. Just when you think you've finally rounded the corner and your skin looks like it might be clearing up, another pimple pops up.

Every day matters
The simple truth is that it's the not-so glam job of what you do every day that's finally going to banish the blemish. This includes following your skiniD® regimen, how you eat and how well you take care of yourself.

This isn't to say that if you miss washing your face one night you're automatically going to wake up with a face full of flare-ups. But if you keep flaking out on your acne care, down the road you may be wearing the consequences all over your face.

Let's look at the long-term picture. We know that blemishes can take up to 8 weeks to reach the surface. This means that every day during that time, a series of events occurs:

  1. dead skin cells shed that clog the pores
  2. Oil glands (triggered by hormones) go into overproduction
  3. p. acnes bacteria thrive in this oil-rich environment leading to inflammation

Acne management means that to break this cycle, you need to manage all three of the above issues with your skiniD® regimen every day.

So you have to stay on top of your game.

Practice makes perfect
The way to stick with a routine is to make it so easy it becomes automatic. Keep your skiniD® products handy and within reach of where you'll be using them.

Look at your behavior and figure out ways to make that work for you too. For example, do you tend to fall asleep with your makeup on? If so, wash your face and apply your products earlier, even if it's just after dinner.

Setting and sticking to your routine is a gift you're giving to your skin now and well into the future. Think of it as your clear skin savings account that you contribute to each and every day.
